PT Mifa Bersaudara (“MIFA” or “the Company”) is a subsidiary of PT Media Djaya Bersama, established in 2002. Since its inception, MIFA has operated an integrated coal mining business in the Aceh Barat area, Aceh Province. MIFA’s mining activities are conducted under a Production Operation Mining Business License (Izin Usaha Pertambangan Operasi Produksi / IUP-OP) based on Keputusan Bupati Aceh Barat No. 117.b Tahun 2011 concerning the Adjustment of the Production Operation Mining License (IUP-OP) for PT Mifa Bersaudara, with a concession area of approximately 3,134 hectares (ha). The first extension has been granted through Keputusan Kepala Dinas Penanaman Modal dan Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu Aceh Nomor: 540/DPMTSP/890/IUP.OP1./2024 regarding the First Extension of the Production Operation Mining License (IUP-OP) for Coal Commodity granted to PT Mifa Bersaudara in Kecamatan Meureubo, Kabupaten Aceh Barat, covering 3,134 ha.
MIFA’s mining operations are carried out independently and cover all activities from upstream to downstream, starting from the mining area to the dedicated coal port. To support its daily operations, MIFA has developed various facilities and infrastructure, including mining operational facilities, a coal crushing plant, dedicated coal hauling roads, and a bulk coal loading system to barges destined for the Special Coal Terminal of PT Mifa Bersaudara located on the coast of Peunaga Cut Ujong, Kabupaten Aceh Barat.
Since January 2012, MIFA has conducted pilot mining and began shipping coal to Lhok Nga, Aceh Besar, via a public port owned by the Government. This activity marked a significant milestone for MIFA as the pioneer of the coal industry in Aceh, being the first to carry out coal shipment through a dedicated coal terminal located in the village of Peunaga Cut Ujong.
