PT Mifa Bersaudara Mining With Care For Nature
PT Mifa Bersaudara, as a mining company, not only contributes to economic progress but also plays an active role in maintaining biodiversity within the company. Awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental ecosystems and biodiversity has been stated in the company's vision and mission and is contained in the PT Mifa Bersaudara Management Policy, which refers to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
PT Mifa Bersaudara understands that biodiversity is an important pillar of sustainable development. Biodiversity provides various benefits for humans, ranging from food resources and medicines to ecosystem services that are important for life. At the same time, mining activities are also an important activity that supports economic development.
PT Mifa Bersaudara' mining activities have carried out good mining practices, or good mining practices, where mining practices are carried out responsibly and sustainably while maintaining the preservation of biodiversity to maintain continuous improvement in the economic welfare of the community, the sustainability of the community's social life, environmental quality, inclusive life and development, and the implementation of governance that is able to maintain the improvement in the quality of life from one generation to the next.
The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) principles has been carried out by PT Mifa Bersaudara by building a solid foundation for preserving ecosystems and biodiversity through the establishment of conservation areas within the Mining Business Permit (IUP) area of 531 ha. The conservation area owned by PT Mifa Bersaudara is inhabited by various types of rare flora and fauna typical of Aceh, which in the future will be ecologically and economically beneficial for the communities around the mine.
The conservation efforts carried out have had a positive impact on the ecosystem and biodiversity, especially in the West Aceh region. Biodiversity in this region has increased, as evidenced by the increase in the absolute value and number of species recorded in conservation areas, which can be seen in the table below.
